Who am I?
I wear many hats – wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, great aunt, friend, business owner – I decided to start a blog, somewhere I didn’t have to wear any hats, somewhere I could just be me.
There is humour in my life and relationships and I write about it, for we all need to laugh and learn not to take ourselves too seriously. We must enjoy this life, for it ‘s not a dress rehearsal but the real thing.
I love travel, being near the sea, reading, writing, chocolate, coffee, Italy, freshly cut grass, the smell of lavender, children’s laughter, the smell of autumn, Christmas, church bells, freshly baked bread, family holidays, spending time with friends……………..
I have always written stories but confined my work to boxes and drawers, unsure of what to do, unsure of where to go. I recently enrolled on a creative writing course feeling the time was right for me to do this. I was the oldest member of class but the support and encouragement I found there was amazing. My confidence boosted, I emptied the boxes and drawers. A short story has been included in the University’s magazine and I am now starting work on a novel.
Where am I?
I live in Wales, a beautiful part of the UK, where long walks by the sea or through a lovely valley restore a jaded body and relax a stressed mind
Life constantly amazes me…………………
It sounds like we have a lot in common, an ocean apart. And sadly, I am not where near the sea or shoreline to take long walks.
I love my UK and other international blogging friends. So glad you found me. I’ll subscribe to your blog through the RSS feed. (I don’t know if you get notified of that or not.)
Thanks for finding me.

Hi Dee, thanks for taking the time and signing up to follow Natureontheedge. Like your profile piece, living with humour and rather admire taking on the creative writing challenge. What is it about the smell of autumn which appeals? It a season with all it’s gorgeous visual appeal, hadn’t thought in terms of it’s scent. Nice to have a blogging connection over there in Wales.

Hi Liz, thank you for getting in touch. There are some simply stunning photographs on your blog and I look forward to exploring them in the days to come. I have been as scribbler from childhood and used to fill drawers with unfinished stories because I ran out of steam or wandered so far away from the original plot, I got lost and didn’t know how to bring it to a close. I thought it was about time to get serious and learn how to become a writer…
As for the smell of autumn – it’s damp leaves and smoky bonfires, mist rising from damp fields and then warming as the watery sun shines through; the hot chocolate warming your hands as you take a break from clearing the garden, the smell of warm wools as you pull on a favourite sweater when the nights begin to shorten…
Lovely to hear from you, the Cape has been on my list for a long time, think it’s about time I moved it up a bit higher.
Take care
Dee
