I’m grateful for a re-run this week. After years of searching we finally have a holiday home in France – more about that later. It has take up a lot of our time and I have missed chances to post anything as the internet connection at present is so slow, so very happy to offer up this post from 2012.
Thanks as ever to Rochelle who is busy being an author and getting the third book in her series ready for publication

The auction guide said 75,000; the place was almost a ruin it would take a lot of time and money to make it habitable.
Rose pouted, her Manolos were scratched, her hair a mess. Sam smiled, “could be beautiful” he said.
Rose glowered and thought of what she could buy with 75,000+
It would never be beautiful, she frowned, it was an old ugly mess. She was a city girl.
Sam took her arm and led her inside, showing her his plans for Rose Cottage.
Rose made the front cover of ‘Homes & Gardens.’
Smiling, looking beautiful.

A Rose within a Rose – clever! And congratulations on your chateau!

Ha ha. Thank you Liz, a chateau it certainly isn’t!

Hiya, Sweet Dee! Awesome, awesome! Neat ending with the mixing of Rose and the cottage.
Dee, I’d love to know more about that summer home in France. You folks in the UK get to do so much we don’t … but then again, we don’t live near the places we dream about because we’re on the other side of the world. Haha! But seriously, folks …
Again, wonderful story.

Thank you Kent.
We have bought a small house in an old village in the Languedoc region of SW France. It is an area of vineyards and small villages about 40 minutes from the coast and we feel very lucky to have it after searching for more years than I care to remember! Being close to the European mainland has its advantages, but travelling round the USA offers us the chance to see some of the places of our dreams too.

Dear Dee,
Happy to offer anyone that needs one a respite for the summer. Congratulations on the new place. I hope it’s a little less rustic than Rose’s cottage. Nicely done. 😉

Dear Rochelle
Thank you. The house has a few more mod cons than Rose’s cottage and is in a lovely area, so I feel quite blessed to be able to go there whenever I am able.
Best wishes

Nice repost, Dee. I don’t remember this one from the first run, but then I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast this morning. I’m glad Rose had enough faith in Sam (and his dream) to stick it out and enjoy the outcome. I love happy endings. Well done.

I think the cover of ”Homes & Gardens’ did the trick! Our place was renovated quite a few years ago thankfully as we are much good as D-I-Y – apart from decorating. Thanks for reading Margaret, hope all is well.

They must have worked hard, she will need wellingtons here, not manolos.
